If it’s a common occurrence for you to have a sore throat on the day of the gig, I would pay attention to yourself on a few things. Are you breathing with your mouth open from stress? If so, that will dry out your mouth and cords. Do you have a stomach ache on the day of the gig? You may be activating too much stomach acid and as a result getting reflux. Try and observe your patterns instead of treating the symptoms on the day of the gig.
